Please try any of the following steps to fix screen tearing on the GeForce NOW Linux desktop app.
- Update the NVIDIA driver
- If you have an NVIDIA GPU, ensure you have a minimum driver version of 580.126.09 or higher.
- Please note that after installing a new NVIDIA driver on the host system, the corresponding Flatpak runtime NVIDIA driver must also be installed. This driver is automatically installed when you run the flatpak update for com.nvidia.geforcenow or org.freedesktop.Platform//24.08. Alternatively, you can simply reinstall the GeForce NOW application.
- If you are using a newer driver version like R590 or later, you have to wait for an update which fixes tearing issues.
- Kill remoting apps like X11vnc and RealVNC
- If you have remoting apps like vnc, make sure you exit them before launching GeForce NOW.
- Use a single monitor
- Multi monitor setups are known to disable some optimizations that result in tearing. So disconnect unused monitors and launch GFN again.
